Gemstone: Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli’s main component is blue lazurite. Sometimes it also has traces of sodalite, pyrite, and calcite. Lapis Lazuli was prized by pharaohs in ancient Egypt and was thought to cure melancholy and recurring fevers, as well as increase mental clarity and intuition.The stone is closely tied to the planet Venus and the zodiac sign of Sagittarius. The chakras that are influenced by the lapis lazuli stone are the throat, third eye and the crown. The stone can be found in the USA, Chile, Afghanistan, and Italy. This stone is also thought to have healing properties that aid in communication and meditation, provides insight and clarity of mind, as well as memory and awareness.

Do not wear jewelry in the shower or swimming. When exposed to water, the metal will tarnish faster. Take jewelry off when sleeping and working out. Copper naturally oxidizes creating a patina. Renaissance Wax can be applied to slow the tarnishing and prevent skin from turning green. Store in a closed box or bag. To clean - use jewelry cleaning cloths or use a cleaner like Tarnx.

Please note that the type of wire used is very pliable and can bend out of shape if enough pressure is applied. Do not place your wire wrapped jewelry in a purse or pocket.
