Gemstone: Moss Agate. A translucent chalcedony quartz with inclusions of green and brown manganese oxides, hornblende, and iron giving the stone the appearance of trapped moss in the stone. Also called “mocha stone” after the town al-Mukna in Yemen where it was first found. Moss Agate is associated with the planet Mercury and the zodiac sign Virgo. It can be found in USA, Brazil, Africa, and India. The chakras that are tied to moss agate are the base, sacral, earth, and throat. Moss agate is known to increase optimism, boosts our sense of our own potential, and helps us relax and open up congested or constricted areas. Also known as a birthing crystal to help with lessening pain and ensuring a good delivery.

Care instructions:

Do not wear jewelry in the shower or swimming. When exposed to water, the metal will tarnish faster. Take jewelry off when sleeping and working out. Copper naturally oxidizes creating a patina. Renaissance Wax can be applied to slow the tarnishing and prevent skin from turning green. Store in a closed box or bag. To clean copper, antique bronze, and silver use baking soda mixed with water to create a paste. Use a toothbrush to scrub the jewelry with paste. Rinse with warm water and dry completely. After cleaning apply Renaissance Wax. Jewelry cleaning cloths can also be used. Use Tarnex only if piece does not have antiqued metal on it. Please note that the type of wire used is very pliable and can bend out of shape if enough pressure is applied. Do not place your wire wrapped jewelry in a purse or pocket. Jewelry may get caught in lace or knit garments.
