Gemstone: Onyx and Jet. Onyx is a variety of agate composed of bands of chalcedony, quartz, and opal. In Greek, it means fingernail because of the white line curving like an edge of a nail. The planets associated with onyx are Mars and Saturn and the star sign Leo.It can be found in Italy, USA, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, and Russia. Jet is the waterlogged wood of prehistoric monkey puzzle trees, compacted by pressure under the ocean. It is very light for its size and when rubbed can create static electricity. It is associated with the planet Saturn and zodiac sign of Capricorn. Jet is commonly used for the base and heart chakras and it is found worldwide.

Care instructions:

Do not wear jewelry in the shower or swimming. When exposed to water, the metal will tarnish faster. Take jewelry off when sleeping and working out. Copper naturally oxidizes creating a patina. Renaissance Wax can be applied to slow the tarnishing and prevent skin from turning green. Store in a closed box or bag. To clean copper, antique bronze, and silver use baking soda mixed with water to create a paste. Use a toothbrush to scrub the jewelry with paste. Rinse with warm water and dry completely. After cleaning apply Renaissance Wax. Jewelry cleaning cloths can also be used. Use Tarnex only if piece does not have antiqued metal on it. Please note that the type of wire used is very pliable and can bend out of shape if enough pressure is applied. Do not place your wire wrapped jewelry in a purse or pocket. Jewelry may get caught in lace or knit garments.
